چکیده

Listeria monocytogenes is a foodborne human pathogen that causes systemic infection, fetal-placental infection in pregnant women causing abortion and stillbirth meningoencephalitis elderly immunocompromised individuals. This study aimed to analyse L. from different sources New Zealand (NZ) compare them with international strains. We used pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), multilocus sequence typing (MLST) whole-genome single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) the population structure of NZ isolates their relationship The formed unique clusters PFGE, MLST SNP comparisons compared for which data were available. PFGE identified 31 AscI 29 ApaI patterns indistinguishable pulsotypes being present seafood, horticultural products environmental samples. Apart Asc0002:Apa0002 pulsotype was distributed across sources, other site or factory associated. Whole-genome analysis 200 randomly selected revealed lineage II dominated populations. comparison accounted 89% (177 200) total population, while representation 45.3% (1674 3473). Rarefaction showed type richness greater trend, however, it should be noted predominantly came horticulture respective processing environments factories, unlike where there good mixture clinical, food isolates.

Listeria monocytogenes associated with New Zealand seafood production and clinical cases: unique sequence types, truncated InlA, and attenuated invasiveness.

Listeriosis is caused by the food-borne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes, which can be found in seafood and processing plants. To evaluate the risk to human health associated with seafood production in New Zealand, multi-virulence-locus sequence typing (MVLST) was used to define the sequence types (STs) of 31 L. monocytogenes isolates collected from seafood-processing plants, 15 from processed f...

Virulence of Listeria monocytogenes isolates from humans and smoked salmon, peeled shrimp, and their processing environments.

The virulence of 82 Listeria monocytogenes isolates from human cases and cold-smoked salmon, cooked peeled shrimp, and their production environments was assessed using the plaque-forming assay and a subcutaneous inoculation test in mice. These isolates were previously typed using serotyping and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. The isolates from food-production environments were collected in se...

The investigation of molecular characterization of presumptive Listeria monocytogenes isolates from a food-processing environment

Background: Listeria is a Gram-positive, non-spore forming, facultative anaerobic intracellular bacterium. The most important pathogens in mammals include Listeria monocytogenes and Listeria ivanovii. The former generally causes disease and death in both humans and animals while the latter performs sporadically and primarily causes illness in ruminant...

Proteomic Differences between Listeria monocytogenes Isolates from Food and Clinical Environments

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism associated with a wide range of foods. It causes listeriosis, a severe illness that mainly affects people with weakened immune systems. Proteomic profiles of three different L. monocytogenes isolates were studied using 1D SDS PAGE, 2DE and mass spectrometry. The protein banding patterns generated by 1D SDS PAGE of three strains of L. monocytogenes were foun...

Isolation of Listeria monocytogenes from Meat and Dairy Products

Introduction: This study was intended to determine the presence and distribution of Listeria monocytogenes in various meat and dairy products from Qazvin Province by culture followed by biochemical and morphological assays. The identity of the isolates was further obtained by amplification of prfA gene in bacteria isolates. This gene is a transcriptional activator of virulence gene ex...
